Our Global Executive

Our Global Executivefocuses on strategy, execution and operations, so that we deliver on the promise we make to our clients — to deliver seamless, consistent, high-quality client service, worldwide.

Jim Turley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, leads the Global Executive. The other members are John Ferraro, Chief Operating Officer; our four Global Managing Partners (for People, Quality and Risk Management, Markets, and Operations and Finance); the leaders of our three global Service Lines (AABS, Tax and TAS); and our five Area Managing Partners.

Meet our Albanian practice leaders

Alex Karakitis

 

Alexandros Karakitis is Country Managing Partner of  Ernst & Young Albania and he is also responsible for the Tax Business Services Sector. He has more than twelve years experience in advising on tax efficient structuring of cross – border transactions, merger & acquisitions and financing of activities and repatriation of profits, as well as on supply chain restructurings. Transfer pricing expert. Main industries he works with: Retail & Consumer Products, Pharma, Real Estate, Energy. He has a PhD in International Tax Law, University of Tuebingen, Germany. He has a  Post-graduate degree in European Law, European Institute of University of Saarland, Germany; attorney-at-law; admitted to the Supreme Court of Greece and he is  member of the Athens Bar Association, member of the International Fiscal Association in Athens; branch member of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria.

Fotis Demetriou is a Partner and Head of Assurance Business Services in Ernst & Young, Serbia, FYR Macedonia and Albania. He has 22 years of experience in the audit profession both in external financial audit and in internal operational/procedural audit. Fotis has gained a wide range of experience as well as excellent understanding of financial and internal control systems through his work in diverse environments and disciplines. He has coordinated several large and complex audit engagements in the Southeast European Region. Fotis is a Bachelor in Economics, London School of Economics; Chartered Accountant of England and Wales; Certified Public Accountant of Cyprus;

Hanno Lindpere is a Partner in Advisory and Assurance Business Services practice located in Serbia. He is Head of Advisory Services for Serbia, Albania and Macedonia. Prior to his current role, he was Country Managing Partner in Estonia for 7 years having extensive experience in providing professional services to both leading Estonian companies and major foreign investors from Scandinavia and other Western European countries. He has led multiple IPO projects and advised private sector on finance and strategy matters and government on public and IT policies. He is an Estonian Chartered Accountant and has published multiple articles and studies on economic policies and conducted trainings on accounting and IFRS matters.

George Smyrnioudis leads Ernst & Young Central and Southeast Europe’s Infrastructure Advisory practice and is based in Athens. He has over 14 years of experience in banking, asset management and corporate and project finance.Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he worked for Merrill Lynch (Switzerland), as a Financial Consultant and for the Treasury of the Bank of Cyprus in Greece.He holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago, a M.S.c in Marine Policy from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Athens.During his tenure with Ernst & Young, he has delivered financial advisory services to clients in Greece, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
