At a time when the global business environment holds increasingly complex strategic challenges, we know that how organisations manage their capital agenda today will define their competitive position tomorrow.
As an Ernst & Young Transactions professional, you'll work with a diverse client portfolio consisting some of the world’s largest organisations, fastest-growing companies, and private equity firms on some of the biggest and most complex cross-border engagements in the global market.
You'll help those clients make better and more informed decisions about how they strategically manage capital and transactions in a changing world. That means advising businesses at every stage of the business cycle on how they preserve, optimise, raise and invest their capital to help them achieve their strategic objectives.
If you understand capital and how to make it work harder, you’ll feel at home in Transactions.
Within Transactions we operate in several business areas.

As an M&A professional you'll draw upon deep local industry knowledge within an extensive global network. You'll guide organisations strategically and manage capital and transactions so they can succeed in a changing world. You'll help leading organisations and entrepreneurial businesses meet strategic capital objectives through business reviews, acquisitions, leveraged transactions, disposals, takeovers and mergers.

As one of our Operational Transaction Services professionals, you'll prepare and execute integration plans to maximise synergies and financial benefits from transactions. Understanding the factors that drive successful integrations, you'll use the intricate knowledge of the organisations involved in a deal to drive operational value. Your insights together with the knowledge and experience of your transaction colleagues will help every deal achieve its full potential.

Our award-winning Project Finance professionals work with public sector clients to procure infrastructure-related projects and help private sector clients structure and finance deals. You'll evaluate different ways of delivering projects, develop financial models and negotiate funding to secure the most competitive terms.

Our Real Estate Advisory professionals work with clients in both the private and public sector. As part of their team you'll gain specialist experience in undertaking feasibility studies, valuations and project management. You'll play an integral role helping your clients achieve the potential of their real estate assets, portfolios or companies by developing capital market strategies for acquiring or disposing of real estate. Our advisory services include feasibility studies, valuations and project management.

As part of our market-leading Restructuring practice, you'll help companies and investors facing financial challenges and threats across the whole economic cycle. We'll also help you develop the skills you need to give integrated, objective advice on business restructuring, selling or buying a distressed asset, dealing with distress or under-performance or optimising capital by improving working capital management.

As a Transaction Support professional you'll help clients achieve their strategic goals, whether they are acquiring or divesting assets. You'll advise clients across the transaction lifecycle – from strategic assessment to implementation and post-deal integration. You'll identify key value drivers, challenge assumptions about future performance and work with other Ernst & Young service teams to deliver an integrated service to our clients.

Every transaction has tax implications, whether it's an acquisition, disposal, merger, demerger, joint venture, refinancing, restructuring, or stock exchange transaction such as an IPO.
Working in our Transaction Tax team you'll advise companies and private equity investors on all tax aspects of their transactions across a wide range of industries and geographies, helping clients to benefit from the potential tax opportunities present in transactions as well as identifying and reducing inherent tax risk. You'll also work alongside restructuring colleagues to advise companies in financial difficulties, including those in formal insolvency proceedings, on sales of non-core businesses to restore their balance sheets.
As a member of this globally integrated team, you'll develop the tax and transaction skills and knowledge you need to progress your career in a dynamic and highly commercial environment.

Our Valuation & Business Modelling professionals help decision-makers assess and plan the efficient allocation of resources in organisations. Using sophisticated modelling and quantitative analysis techniques, you'll develop business and financial models to structure a business or a new venture.
Your aim? To provide an objective view of critical assumptions and uncertainties so clients and their investors better understand the deal – from revenue and tax structure strategies, to investment drivers that create value.

Our working capital professionals work with corporations, private equity firms and their portfolio companies to improve working capital management. They help clients understand the likely sources of potential cash flow that can be released from accounts receivable, inventory and payables. Our professionals help clients understand, evaluate and implement options that quickly and sustainably improve cash flows.
In addition, we work with potential investors to help them assess the potential value that might be unlocked from working capital prior to closing a transaction. You'll gain experience working with a variety of businesses across a range of sectors, developing the skills and knowledge you need to be a successful advisor in this area.
