Careers Students Applying to Ernst & Young A degree of difference - Ernst & Young - Australia

A degree of difference

It's time to bust the myth that you need a degree in accounting or commerce to join Ernst & Young. As a global organisation with 144,000 employees in 140 countries, we provide a range of solutions and services to our clients.

We're interested in talented students and graduates from many disciplines including law, engineering, science, information systems, actuarial studies, environmental studies, economics, business, psychology, maths and human resources (and, of course, accounting and commerce). Find out where in our business your degree (pdf, 122.3kb) could take you.

In areas like IT Risk and Assurance, a degree in information systems or in information technology would be our primary requirement. As an IT risk and assurance professional, you’ll help clients leverage technology to develop efficiencies and manage the risks associated with running IT operations.

Our Research & Development Tax team recruits students with qualifications in science or engineering. The role of the team is to understand our clients’ business and the industry in which they operate. Combined with your knowledge of tax law, you’re able to identify eligible R&D projects.

Our Transfer Pricing team looks for students with an economics background. You’ll be a part of a team that helps clients build and implement structures that support their business goals and helps them manage the cost of trade.

And you may have the knowledge and foundation we’re looking for in our Human Capital group if your background is in human resources. As a human capital professional, you’ll design tax-effective reward strategies to help clients mobilise their employees around the world in order to achieve their organisation’s strategic goals.
