Careers Student Jennifer Byrne Ernst & Young stories - Ernst & Young - Australia

Ernst & Young stories

Jennifer Byrne photo

Jennifer Byrne worked with us as a Vacationer, and joined the Indirect Tax & Incentives team in Perth as a Graduate in 2008.

I wanted to be a Vacationer so I could get a feel for the firm. It allowed me to understand the firm and ease my way into working here.

I love being a Graduate.  There’s an emphasis on training and an opportunity to network with other graduates.  I’ve made good friends, and it’s surprising how quickly that happens!

If you want to learn, you won’t be ‘stuck’ while you’re at Ernst & Young. Training is provided from day one, so you always know where you’re going.

I don’t feel as though I’m lost in a big firm at Ernst & Young. I’ve been here for four months, and I think I fit right in!

My career is new, but promising.  I work in GST, helping clients with a range of tasks, including business activity statements and general enquiries.

I like to be kept on my toes and experience new things.  Ernst & Young provides endless opportunities.  Being able to learn and constantly try new things is a great motivator.

The social side of working at Ernst & Young is great.  I’ve attended balls, end-of-year parties and a Graduate Seminar in Sydney.  It makes me realise how big Ernst & Young is.
