In this edition we examine the full-year results of Australian banks which reflect a solid performance and continued sector robustness. However earnings and revenue growth options are likely to become more challenging over the next twelve months amidst a slow growth local economy, challenging operating environment, the ongoing European sovereign debt crisis and emerging regulatory reform.
The half-year results reveals that whilst there are signs that stability is returning to the economic environment, there remains some caution around the pace of business credit growth and the lack of genuine momentum in all sectors of the economy driving future revenue growth. The industry continues to rebase expectations.
