Superannuation - Ernst & Young - Australia

Simplifying superannuation

The superannuation industry is one of the fastest growing market segments in Australia, creating challenges and opportunities for all participants including industry funds, corporate funds, retail funds, self-managed funds, public sector funds, third party service providers, employers and individuals.

Given the complex and constantly changing superannuation regime, we have a specialised team that works with employers, trustees and superannuation executives to deliver solutions to emerging issues.

We advise superannuation providers about regulatory and tax compliance issues, helping them to maximise their after-tax investment returns and create equity between participants.

We also help employers make superannuation decisions that attract and retain employees and advise on the tax aspects of effective termination payments.

Our broad superannuation services include:

  • Assurance and advisory –
    internal/external audit

The $20 billion prize: an industry blueprint to implement SuperStream

Ernst & Young and the Financial Services Council’s joint research into SuperStream (pdf, 1.4mb). The trillion dollar question – Can superannuation boost investment in Australia’s infrastructure?

A new Ernst & Young report reveals superannuation funds are unlikely to increase infrastructure investment while projects are offered in their current form. The trillion dollar question (pdf, 1mb) report explores some of the myths about the superannuation industry, identifies barriers to infrastructure investment and explores ways to remove the hurdles.
