EY announces new partners across Asia-Pacific region for 2011
Friday, 1 July 2011
- 104 partners across Asia-Pacific region, including 32 in Australia and New Zealand.
- Signals 23% increase in partners from 2010.
To support the firm’s growth strategy across the Asia-Pacific, EY today announced 104 partners had been promoted across the area, effective 1 July.
Oceania CEO and Managing Partner Rob McLeod welcomed the newly-promoted partners saying the strong numbers showed the firm’s commitment to creating a more globally connected firm with strong talent and capability.
“Asia’s attractiveness for Australian and New Zealand companies looking for competitive advantage in markets beyond our borders continues to soar,” Mr McLeod says.
“Investing in our people in this important area is about understanding that our clients are looking for strong expertise and integrated networks, both abroad and at home.”
Mr McLeod said the 32 new partners for Australia and New Zealand would join the 440-strong Oceania partnership and more than 6000 employees on both sides of the Tasman.
“In Australia and New Zealand, the focus on new partners reflects current market opportunities and challenges as well as robust economic growth in resource intensive states such as Western Australia and Queensland.
“As a result of increasing demand from our clients, we have also stepped up our investment in our public sector offering, creating government hubs across Australia which focus on key sectors such as health, infrastructure and education,” Mr McLeod says.
Females make up 19% of all newly-promoted partners across Australia and New Zealand.
“While we have much more work to do in this area, this is evidence of the strong talent pipeline we are building for our female employees,” Mr McLeod says.
