Thursday 27 June 2013 — EY today announced a new sponsorship agreement with the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) in Sydney.

EY Sydney Office Managing Partner Lynn Kraus said: “EY have a proud history of supporting the arts in Australia. Spanning almost two decades, our arts sponsorship program has helped bring exceptional local and international exhibitions to a wider audience than would otherwise see them.”

“The recently expanded MCA is one of Sydney’s most exciting contemporary art museums. We are excited to welcome them as part of our growing arts sponsorship program, which also includes ongoing relationships with a number of other leading arts organisations across Australia,” Ms Kraus said.

EY’s one year sponsorship agreement with the MCA, effective from 1 July 2013, includes a supporting sponsorship of the upcoming survey exhibition of works by legendary artist, musician and activist Yoko Ono.

Curated by MCA Chief Curator Rachel Kent, War Is Over! (if you want it): Yoko Ono comprises five decades of Yoko Ono’s art works across a diverse range of media. The exhibition title comes from a text work by Ono and her husband John Lennon that first appeared in 1969 across public billboards in twelve cities worldwide, including New York and London.

MCA Acting Director Michael Snelling said: “We are delighted that EY have joined the MCA as a Major Partner and as the Supporting Sponsor of our major summer exhibition, War Is Over! (if you want it): Yoko Ono. Yoko Ono is one of the world’s most legendary and intriguing contemporary personalities. This first major solo survey of her work in Australia and a definite highlight for the MCA will introduce audiences to five decades of her artistic practice, encompassing all aspects of her unique career.”

“We look forward to a strong collaboration with EY to make contemporary art accessible to broader audiences.”

War Is Over! (if you want it): Yoko Ono will run from 15 November 2013 to 23 February 2014 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
