Entrepreneur Of The Year search begins
Friday, 18 March 2011 — The search for Australia’s leading entrepreneur is on again with nominations open for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.
A global program with more than 140 cities participating in more than 50 countries, EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year is considered the world’s most prestigious business award.
Uschi Schreiber, EY Oceania Deputy CEO, believes the unique individuals identified by the Entrepreneur Of The Year program are more than just exceptional achievers, they are “sculptors of change”.
“While there is no mould or stereotype, entrepreneurs are passionate, calculated risk takers who are often wildly successful despite the obstacles in their path,” says Schreiber.
“Fierce determination in the face of opposition is a characteristic that many of our past and present entrepreneurs have in spades.”
Since the 2001 launch in Australia, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program has recognised more than 900 Australian entrepreneurs for their exceptional ideas and accomplishments.
Each year the Australian Entrepreneur Of The Year winner competes at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year in Monte Carlo, where past winners have included the founders of Amazon, IKEA and Google.
