Ernst & Young Canberra office continues growth

Wednesday, 16 November 2011— Ernst & Young’s Canberra practice is continuing its strong growth as a result of increasing demand from the public and private sectors.

One year on from the opening of the new CBD offices at 121 Marcus Clarke Street, the investment in Canberra has only increased.

Lucille Halloran, Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Canberra says, “We have bolstered our team through significant investment in capability across all service lines – including tax, assurance, internal audit and detailed advisory services – to help ensure we can provide our clients with forward thinking, market leading options.

“In July we signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian National University (ANU), uniting academia and advisory so we are able to better address the complex problems faced by clients in today’s competitive business environment,” Halloran said.

“We also signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the National Portrait Gallery, which reinforces Ernst & Young’s long standing commitment to the arts and recognises the important role arts programs play in our communities.

“Through our Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® program, we have a world-renowned platform that will allow us to showcase Canberra’s emerging talent and help some of our successful business and social entrepreneurs gain greater recognition on a national and global stage.

“Canberra is providing a particularly innovative environment for service providers. The Government continues to expect value adding solutions to deal with the complex challenges they face.

“The private sector has also proven remarkably resilient to market fluctuations with several local businesses performing especially well,” Halloran said.
