Tuesday 4 December 2012 —EY has today announced the appointment of Monash University Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Stephanie Fahey as its Oceania Education Lead Partner based in Canberra.

Professor Fahey joins EY after a distinguished academic career, which more recently has included responsibility for Monash University’s international education and research programs.

Over the past seven years, Professor Fahey has also chaired two Monash University boards and overseen the restructuring of marketing, recruitment and international engagement. Recently she spearheaded Monash’s significant commercial presence in new markets including the Middle East and Latin America.

Earlier in her career, Professor Fahey also held positions with Sydney, Melbourne and Victoria Universities.

Professor Fahey has had extensive international experience working throughout Asia, in both a research capacity and in her international strategy role. She brings to EY extensive knowledge of the higher education sector in the US, UK and Europe.

EY’s Oceania Government leader, Jim Birch, says Professor Fahey will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to EY.

“Professor Fahey’s considerable experience and knowledge of the education sector will be an asset to EY and our clients,” he said.

Professor Fahey’s appointment aligns with EY’s expansion of its education practice to include an increased focus on the early and secondary education sectors as well as a continued focus on the higher education sector.

“We are delighted to have Professor Fahey join us at a time when we are expanding the scope of our practice,” Birch said. “Under her leadership, we will be building on our already comprehensive expertise in the higher education sector through the creation of a national practice that encompasses all levels of education,” he said.
