EY supports ground-breaking exhibition

Tuesday, 11 October 2011 — EY’s long-standing commitment to the arts now boasts a new high-profile addition, with the announcement of a major sponsorship of the upcoming exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso at the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney.

Co-organised by the Musée National Picasso, Paris, Art Gallery of New South Wales and Art Exhibitions Australia, Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris will be the first major survey of the legendary artist’s work ever seen in Australia.

The exhibition will feature over 150 extraordinary paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and photographs spanning virtually every phase of the iconic artist’s career.

EY Sydney Office Managing Partner Lynn Kraus said EY were excited to be a part of such an unprecedented event on the Australian arts calendar.

Art Gallery of NSW Director Edmund Capon AM OBE said the exhibition was exceptional, capturing every phase of Picasso’s career including masterpieces from his Blue, Rose, Expressionist, Cubist, Neoclassical and Surrealist periods.

“This is the most ambitious exhibition ever undertaken by the gallery,” Mr Capon said.

“With the support of our sponsors we are able to give many Australians the opportunity to view some of the stunning works from Picasso’s own personal collection for the very first time.”

Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso Paris will run from 12 November 2011 to 25 March 2012 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
