A key tool to drive gender diversity
Despite focused investment in initiatives to improve gender diversity, Australian corporations have largely failed to make progress on improving the representation of women at senior leadership levels. This indicates ineffective approaches to the shaping and targeting of diversity strategies .
The new ASX requirement for publicly listed companies in Australia is to ‘adopt and disclose a diversity policy that includes measurable objectives relating to gender’ and the imminent reporting of the review of the Equal Opportunity for Women in Work Agency are intensifying the scrutiny placed on performance in this area. In this environment improving gender diversity moves from a ‘nice to have’ to a more critical influencer shaping the perception of the business brand in the consumer and employment markets.
The Chief Executive Women’s (CEW®), CEO Tool Kit goes to the core issues that shape gender diversity outcomes by posing six questions CEO’s should be asking about women in their own organisation. As well as a comprehensive work book, the Kit provides a simple charting tool so that when an organisation’s data is entered it provides metrics rich and visually accessible with an insight to each of the six questions. This lays the foundation to inform the organisations leaders and to establish an effective business case, strategic plan and cycle of review and adjustment.
Ernst and Young is CEW’s exclusive partner in promoting the Kit and providing broader advice and support to Kit owners.
