Ernst & Young was named one of Consulting magazine’s “Best Firms to Work For." The results are based on a survey of more than 13,000 respondents representing approximately 350 organizations.
Working Mother magazine’s 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers (2011)
Ernst & Young ranked among the top 10 companies on Working Mother magazine’s annual 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers list for the sixth year in a row. And after 15 years of being named to the list of 100 Best Companies, we’ve been inducted into the Working Mother Hall of Fame. This list recognizes employers whose workplace initiatives — including benefits programs, network groups and employee resources — are leading the US movement to build and maintain supportive work environments for working parents.
Universum Top 100 IDEAL™ Employer (2011)
For the fourth consecutive year, Ernst & Young is the highest ranked Big Four accounting firm on the 2011 US Undergraduate Universum IDEAL™ Employer Survey. In addition to being ranked among the top five overall employers by more than 60,000 college students who participated in the survey, we were ranked No. 4 in the business field and scored the No. 1 spot among students surveyed who are majoring in accounting.
The Universum Top 100 student survey is conducted every year around the world. In the US, students of all ages are targeted at nearly 220 leading universities. They are asked questions about their career expectations and how they perceive companies as employers. Students are also asked to pick the employers they would consider working for and then choose the employers they would most like to work for &emdash; companies they perceive as being ideal.
DiversityInc magazine’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity (2011)
For the sixth consecutive year, Ernst & Young was named one of DiversityInc magazine’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity for our demonstrated use of measurable diversity, best practices and results. Ranked fifth on the list for the third consecutive year, we demonstrated strength in the four areas measured — CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications, and supplier diversity. In addition, we’re in the top 10 of several DiversityInc magazine specialty lists:

For the 13th consecutive year, Ernst & Young was among FORTUNE magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, ranking No. 77 overall on the prestigious list. The distinction reflected our ongoing commitment to creating a culture that helps our people reach their full potential and to fostering a flexible and inclusive work environment that supports people both personally and professionally.
Global Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award (2010)
For the 13th consecutive year, Ernst & Young was a Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award winner, one of 20 organizations recognized. Ernst & Young is also a member of the MAKE Hall of Fame, one of 22 global organizations that have won the award since 1998.
Hispanic Business magazine's Best Companies for Diversity (2011)
Hispanic Business named Ernst & Young one of its Best Companies for Diversity. According to its website, the list measures a company's commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity.
Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (2010)
For the sixth year in a row, Ernst & Young earned a 100% rating in the HRC Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index. We were the first of the Big Four to do so. Ernst & Young places among HRC’s Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality. Our 100% score reflects our active support of an inclusive workplace for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
CAREERS & the disABLED magazine’s Top 50 Employers For People With Disabilities (2010)
Ernst & Young ranked No. 9 in preference among companies nominated by this publication’s readers — the only one of the Big Four to make the list.
2010 ERE Recruiting Excellence Awards (2010)
For the fourth year in a row, Ernst & Young received top honors as Best College Recruiting Program as well as Best Employer Brand for the third year in a row. The awards recognize companies that excel at developing and implementing recruiting, branding and retention programs. The sponsor, ERE Media, provides online information and networking opportunities for recruiters and HR professionals.
Black Collegian magazine’s Top 100 Diversity Employers (2010)
Our commitment to an inclusive workplace helped Ernst & Young secure a spot on Black Collegian magazine’s Top 100 Diversity Employers. The publication has recognized Ernst & Young for more than eight years.
Equal Opportunity magazine’s Top 50 Employers (2010)
Equal Opportunity magazine named Ernst & Young one of their Top 50 Employers for providing a positive working environment for members of minority groups. We ranked No. 17 on the list.
Out & Equal Workplace Excellence Award finalist (2010)
Out & Equal Workplace Advocates honored Ernst & Young as a 2010 award finalist for Significant Achievement in recognition of our strides to advance a fair and equitable workplace for our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies.
Training magazine Hall of Fame (inducted in 2008)
Ernst & Young was inducted into the inaugural class of Training magazine’s Hall of Fame in 2008. Along with five other global organizations, we qualified for this honor by ranking within the Top 10 of Training magazine’s Top 125 companies for five consecutive years. We are proud to be recognized for our long-term commitment to helping our people grow and succeed at every stage of their careers.
The Dave Thomas Foundation, Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces (2010)
For the fourth year in a row, the Dave Thomas Foundation named Ernst & Young one of 100 employers that offer the best adoption benefits in the nation. Rankings were based on the amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for employees who adopt. We ranked No. 56 in the nation and No. 3 in our industry.
Working Mother magazine’s Best Companies for Multicultural Women (2009)
Ernst & Young is among the 20 companies noted as outstanding workplaces for multicultural women in Working Mother magazine’s seventh annual diversity study.

For the eighth year in a row, InformationWeek magazine named Ernst & Young one of the nation’s most innovative and efficient users of information technology. InformationWeek magazine bases its list on a company’s business technology strategies, investments, innovation and administrative practices.
Computerworld magazine’s 2009 Best Places to Work in IT (2009)
Ernst & Young made the esteemed 100 Best, coming in at No. 34. Computerworld magazine bases its list on independent surveys of employees at US organizations that have more than $250 million in revenues and at least 100 US IT employees along with an extensive application.
U.S. Department of Labor New Freedom Initiative Award (2008)
Ernst & Young was one of a handful of organizations to receive this prestigious award for our “exemplary and innovative efforts in furthering the employment and workplace environment for people with disabilities.”
National Minority Business Council, Inc.’s Outstanding Corporate Supplier Diversity Award (2007)
The award recognizes Ernst & Young’s outstanding procurement record of goods and services with minority- and women-owned businesses. Our commitment to establishing and maintaining best procurement practices led us to develop a purchasing database system that incorporates key supplier diversity information.
Disabilities Matters Award (2007)
Ernst & Young was one of only six companies to receive the first Disabilities Matters Award presented by Springboard Consulting and Work Life Matters magazine. The honor recognizes our pioneering dedication to creating an enabling environment for people with disabilities by providing innovative practices and programs addressing the needs of employees with disabilities and employees with children with special needs.
