Open days
Ernst & Young is actively taking part to the Open Days, a major event organised every year by the Directorate General for Regional Policy and the Committee of the Regions.
In 2007 EY participated with two sessions on "Market restructuring: EU Energy policy - between unification and regional distinctions" and "Financial Control and Audit: The New Audit Requirements 2007-13". In 2008 a debate has been organised on the issue of "Impacts of the Green Energy Package on major European utilities", in collaboration with the Directorate General Environment.
For the 2009 edition, EY has successfully submitted an application to organise a worskshop under the theme Restoring Growth: Innovation in Europe's regions and cities, in the framework under the new private sector-dedicated concept, "the Meeting Place", aimed at facilitating interaction between regions, cities, private companies and financial institutions.
"The OPEN DAYS have become an unmissable event where regions and cities have demonstrated how they can create growth and jobs by getting the very best results from applying the European Union’s cohesion policy. This communication forum has won a faithful following of decision-makers who provide countless examples of economic achievement, social integration, successful regional co-operation, fruitful partnerships between local government and businesses, poles of excellence involving research centres and universities."
Luc Van den Brande, President of the Committee of the Regions
