(Toronto, 1 March 2010) Entrepreneurs achieve dreams and change lives. And EY is calling on you to help give them due recognition by nominating an exceptional entrepreneur for this year’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards.
“Entrepreneurs who’ve accomplished great things didn’t just dream about being successful,” says Colleen McMorrow, National Director of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards. “They set out to realize those dreams, and never stopped until they reached their potential or went beyond. From being a beacon of hope during tough times, to guiding us on the road to prosperity, entrepreneurs have made revolutionary and lasting changes in many aspects of our lives.”
Today is the official launch of the 2010 Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in Canada. For 17 years, EY has honoured some of Canada’s leading innovators for their creativity, vision and drive to excel. Past winners include leaders representing companies large and small, public and private, established and relatively new. Winners are rewarded for a variety of qualities, including their vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility.
“Canadians consistently show talent for developing unique business ideas, and this fresh thinking translates into promising business prospects,” notes McMorrow. “Through our global Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards program, we hope our country’s brightest innovators can reach and inspire businesses throughout the world.”
The call for nominations begins today. Self-nominations are encouraged as well, and there is no fee to nominate. Completed application forms must be received by April 30, 2010.
To be eligible for consideration, the nominee must be an owner/manager of a private or public organization who is primarily responsible for the company’s recent performance and an active member of top management. The nominee’s organization must be at least three years old.
This year’s national program sponsors are Global Television Network, National Post, La Presse and RDI.
