Area Managing Partner – Americas In his role as Americas Area Managing Partner, Steve has leadership of some 41,000 Ernst & Young people across 29 countries, and the Area’s 11 business units and centralized infrastructure report to him.
Besides the US and Canada, the Americas Area includes Latin America, with its important emerging economies, and Israel, which has a large number of SEC registrants. Steve also represents Ernst & Young in the Americas in maintaining regulatory relationships.
Previous experience Steve was leader of Ernst & Young's Financial Services office before his appointment as Americas Area Managing Partner. He has a long background in working with leading global financial services companies, serving as audit partner or senior advisory partner on many of Ernst & Young’s largest clients. In addition to his client involvement, Steve has a strong interest in the development of our people, and is Executive Sponsor of the Americas Area Inclusiveness efforts.
Credentials Based in New York, Steve is actively involved in supporting a number of charities and in developing Ernst & Young’s corporate responsibility efforts. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Hall and of Colgate University, where he received a BA degree in Mathematical Economics. Steve also holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Stern School at New York University.
