Application, interview and selection process - Ernst & Young - Schweiz

Application, interview and selection process

There are eight steps to success – read the guide below to help you prepare effectively.

Identify your interests

Take a moment to visit the Working at Ernst & Young section to learn about our service lines and identify your areas of interest. You can then apply for an entry-level opportunity in Assurance, Advisory, Transactions, Tax or Legal.

Search for opportunities

Click on “Job Offerings” and look for opportunities in your chosen area of interest. Most of our entry-level opportunities require a degree in accounting, business, finance, tax, law, engineering or a related field. You’ll find more information about specific qualification requirements in the job descriptions.

Methods of application

There are three ways to send us your application:

- By post – You can send your application documents directly to the responsible HR Manager. You will find a list of responsible HR Managers under Contacts.
- By email – please use our email address careers@ch.ey.com (for the German and Italian speaking part of Switzerland) or recrutement@ch.ey.com (for the French speaking part of Switzerland)
- Apply Online

Allow a few minutes to complete the application form. We’ll let you know when we receive your information. If your application meets our requirements, we’ll invite you for an interview.

Application documents

Your applications documents should contain:

- a motivation letter for the position
- your CV, including a photo
- Photocopies of your work references
- Photocopies of your diplomas or school results

What is important to us

- the job you are interested in should be clearly mentioned in your letter
- we expect you to be informed about Ernst & Young before you send us your application documents
- if you are applying spontaneously, please indicate which location you would like to work in
- please send your applications documents only to one person within the Firm. We will transfer your documents internally to the correct person.

Prepare for the interview

Prepare to talk about yourself and discuss specific experiences that help demonstrate relevant skills. We want to get to know you as an individual and discover your interests, strengths and attributes. We recommend you think about any extra-curricular activities, significant academic projects, work or life experience that will help us get to know you and assess if you’re likely to succeed at Ernst & Young.

You will have one first interview with a HR Manager and then a second one with the Business line. For Assurance Services, if desired, you will also have the possibility to meet young professionals who have recently joined us and who can better explain what life at Ernst & Young looks like.

Review our offer

If you are successful throughout the interview and selection process, we’ll make you a formal offer in writing. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions and, if you’re happy with the offer, we’ll look forward to receiving confirmation and to welcoming you on board.

Prepare to join

You’ll find a large community of people at Ernst & Young ready to welcome you. In the months before you take up your position, there’ll be opportunities to participate in campus networking events and possibly to meet your peers and new colleagues. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to help prepare for day one at Ernst & Young.
