ZURICH, JUNE 25, 2009 - The partners of Ernst & Young Switzerland have chosen Thomas Stenz to succeed Andreas Müller as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Thomas Stenz will assume his new role at the beginning of the next financial year on July 1, 2009 and will remain Head of Audit for a transitional period.

“As a former member of the Board of Directors, Thomas Stenz is well acquainted with the body and with almost thirty years of experience in auditing, he is one of the highest-profile experts in his field. I am extremely pleased that we were able to get Thomas Stenz for this position,” said Andreas Müller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ernst & Young Switzerland.

“It is an honor to be given the opportunity to take on this position, all the more because Ernst & Young and the entire industry currently find themselves in a very challenging market environment” said Thomas Stenz. “For that very reason I will continue to put a high priority on client care. I will put my all into ensuring that Ernst & Young retains its position as a successful audit and advisory-services company.”

Andreas Müller will retire from the Board and the Partnership at the end of June 2009 after 38 years at Ernst & Young. “Ernst & Young owes Andreas Müller an enormous debt of gratitude. “Under his leadership, Ernst & Young Switzerland has taken a decisive step to integrate further into the European and worldwide organization. This step was the ideal moment for the top management posts to be handed over to the next generation of partners,” Bruno Chiomento, Chief Executive Officer of Ernst & Young Switzerland, remarked.

Dr. Walter Jakob, Deputy Chairman of Ernst & Young Switzerland, and Manuel Aeby will both retire from the Board and the Partnership also at the end of June 2009. Walter Jakob will continue in his role as Senior Tax Counsel for Ernst & Young. “We would like extend our sincere thanks to Walter Jakob and Manuel Aeby for their many years of service.
