Prof. Andrea Pfeifer represents Switzerland
Election of the World Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2010
Professor Andrea Pfeifer, co-founder and CEO of the Lausanne-based biotech company AC Immune SA, will represent Switzerland at the election of the World Entrepreneur of the Year© 2010 in Monte Carlo on June 5, 2010. Having been named Entrepreneur of the Year in the high-tech/life sciences category in Switzerland in 2009, she is representing Swiss entrepreneurship and its innovativeness among 49 international candidates in this year’s competition.
“It’s a great honor for me to be asked to represent Switzerland in this important competition. Monte Carlo is a wonderful setting for sharing visions and discussing entrepreneurial perspectives with the world’s foremost entrepreneurs. I’m thrilled to be able to explain to the jury members the importance of our mission, the development of an effective drug for Alzheimer’s disease, and to convince them of the excellence of my company,” Professor Pfeifer said.

Just two years ago a Swiss entrepreneur, Dr. Jean Paul Clozel, founder and CEO of the biotech company Actelion, was awarded the title. If Professor Andrea Pfeifer follows suit, Switzerland will be the first country ever to have won the international competition a second time.
This year marks the tenth World Entrepreneur of the Year® event.
