Since Chen Ying-Chieh assumed the post of General Manager in 1999, he brought Daphne International Holdings to a new epoch – the company has gone from being a loss-making company to a profitable one, with an 800% increase in sales volume to about RMB7 billion in 2011. With clear brand positioning, unique marketing strategies and innovative products, Daphne’s core brand sales outlets have grown from about 100 in 1999 to 5,600 in 2011. The company now has a presence throughout Greater China, Asia, Europe and North America.

Recognized as the Top 1 of C-BPI Women’s Shoes in 2012, Daphne has been ranked first in sales volume in its respective product categories for 16 consecutive years. Today, it is a leading shoe brand and a fashion icon in China and overseas.

As an enterprise that is vertically integrated from manufacturing design to terminal sales, Daphne enjoys powerful synergies that help make it one of the most profitable companies in the industry. Looking forward, Chen says his company will continue to expand with the aim of having Daphne become a leading fashion brand under his core strategy of “multi-category, multi-brand, multi-grade and multi-channel”. He is already well on his way to achieving this goal and was named one of the Top 25 Chinese in the Global Fashion Industry by Forbes magazine in 2012.
