EY recognized as “Distinguished Family-Friendly Employer” in Hong Kong
- EY will recruit 2,000 talented people in Greater China, including 300 in Hong Kong in FY15
Hong Kong, 19 June 2014 - EY has been honored with the award of "2013/14 Distinguished Family-Friendly Employer" by the Family Council in recognition of its impressive implementation of family-friendly employment policies, along with dedication to raise greater awareness of family values.
The Family Council organized the award scheme to promote family values and a caring culture in the business sector and the community as a whole. The judging panel evaluated companies based on their family-friendly employment policies and practices, benefits to the company and employees, rationale for such policies, as well as management’s commitment to promote a family-friendly spirit.
A total of 222 large corporations took part in the award scheme. EY was among 34 companies who have been named “2013/14 Distinguished Family-Friendly Employer” under the Corporations Category. EY is also the only Big Four professional services organizations to win the award.

Recognizing the objectives of Building a better working world, EY has established Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I) Networks to assist its employees to develop career pathways while maintaining a healthy personal life. Support networks include: the Working Parents’ Network, Professional Women’s Network and Cross Generation Network.
Meanwhile, EY’s Flexible Work Arrangements offer reduced work schedules, career breaks and seasonal work schedules. Depending on the job nature, arrangements for flexible working hours or “work from home” initiatives have been introduced as well, which encourage people to fulfil their family obligations without fear of compromising their careers.
EY encourages family values and work life balance by setting up the Social & Recreation Club, interest groups and voluntary service teams for better organization of leisure events.
Complementing this recognition from the Family Council, business undergraduates in Hong Kong recently named the most attractive employer in Hong Kong in Universum’s Hong Kong Top 100 IDEAL Employers 2014, standing tall as a leader of the Big Four professional services organizations in Hong Kong.
