On December 17, 2014, the Federal Court of Appeal confirmed the Tax Court of Canada’s decision allowing the taxpayer’s claim for input tax credits in respect of GST paid to certain placement agencies which had not remitted the GST to the tax authorities. This decision is important to the legal community in the context of the Quebec Revenue Agency’s attempt to hold a taxpayer liable for unremitted GST of its suppliers.
