Sharif Nabulsi Jordan 2013 Entrepreneur of the year winner

Sharif Nabulsi, Globitel

Founded in 1996 by Sharif Nabulsi and Samer Halawa, Globitel is a leading telecom solutions provider offering a dynamic suite of converged solutions. From the company’s humble beginnings that started with four employees, Globitel today boasts over 120 employees with 3 offices in Jordan, KSA and UAE.

After being part of a family-owned business specializing in telecommunications, Sharif joined forces with Samer who was working with a financial information service provider at the time and started their new venture, Globitel. Jordan and the Arab World were not known to be exporters of technology. Sharif and Samer saw this as an opportunity, and with a lot of hard work and persistence, they were able to convince customers of their ability to compete with international technology providers. Today, the company’s portfolio consists of over 40 telecom products, having a global footprint in more than 40 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe. Globitel’s solutions are widely used by the region’s largest telecommunication providers including Saudi Telecom, Zain Group, Etisalat, MTN and many more. Today, the company’s products serve more than five hundred million end-users from over 50 mobile operators.

The company’s success is attributed to the founders’ entrepreneurial mindset instilling a spirit of team-work and innovation, combined with management and marketing skills creating an inclusive, diverse workplace where every Globitel employee can contribute and reach their full potential.

Helping the community and giving back has always been a priority at Globitel believing that success creates more responsibilities. Globitel supports many charity organizations especially orphan, cancer, and protection of nature foundations.

Kaswara S Al-Kahtib Chairman of FULLSTOP Saudi Arabia Entrepreneur of the year 2014

Kaswara S. Al-Kahtib, Chairman of FULLSTOP

Kaswara Al-Khatib Chairman & CEO UTURN is widely recognized as a pioneer of Media and production in Saudi Arabia. From FullStop a small independent creative boutique agency established in 2002 to a fully-fledged communication group including Advertising, Digital & Social Media, Film Production, photography & 3D studios to UTURN the leading Online Entertainment network, with an annual turnover of $ 14M and a valuation of $40M.

Kaswara has always been associated with his passion towards developing the media industry in Saudi. Since the early 80s media industry in Saudi has been a grey and risky business for Saudis to step into as foreign media giants dominated it. Thus it was almost impossible for local creatives to thrive.

Behind his passion to venture into this field and driven by the challenge of why can’t Saudis enter and compete in this industry he started his boutique creative agency focusing on local talents and local insights with high-end creativity which earned it Creative agency of the year for the past 3 years.

Adopting the same principle of why cant it be done in Saudi and spotting the untapped opportunities, he founded several other media related companies one of which is Made in Saudi Films a film production company that created a new industry where almost all production was done outside Saudi.

His recent venture UTURN evolved from a content maker to an online entertainment network that provides edgy, Arabic, relevant and high-quality online content, with more than 600,000,000 views and a massive fan base not only in Saudi, but across continent boundaries, with 20,000,000 followers/subscribers across the different social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Yahoo), UTURN is considered the largest MCN in the region.
