The Sultanate of Oman is on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering the United Arab Emirates on the northwest, Saudi Arabia on the west and Yemen on the southwest.
About 83% of Oman is Muslim. Arabic is Oman's official language but there are native speakers of different dialects. Oman's climate is hot and dry in the interior and humid along the coast. The local time is GMT+4 hours.
The Omani economy is based on the policy of free economy that fosters perfect competition, freedom of markets and price mechanism as the main guiding elements of the national economy, which depends basically on oil sector. Oman pursues a policy of economic diversification and fair distribution of development to a larger section of the society.
