Are you interested in tax advisory? Are you looking to solve non-standard tasks? And are you looking forward to applying theoretical knowledge in practice? EY's Young Tax Professional of the Year is your next step.
The competition runs in two stages - nationally and internationally. The national competition will take place on Thursday, 4 April 2013. Here you'll compete in teams solving a critical tax case and present your findings to the jury consisting of renowned tax professionals. The Finnish winner will be representing Finland at the international contest held in Copenhagen, Denmark in August 2013.
This is what the competition is all about.
EY's Young Tax Professional of the Year is an international tax contest which allows successful students interested in tax to test and demonstrate their technical and professional tax skills.
Students from all over the world are urged to attend, ensuring participation from students from a variety of countries. The competition works in two stages.
The first phase of the competition takes place in Finland.
During the first round we will challenge your technical abilities and wider commercial strengths — do well here against some of the best minds in Finland and you will become a country finalist. As a country finalist you will represent Finland at the YTPY international final.
Please note that the competition will be held in English.
YTPY 2013 is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark (during the 67th International Fiscal Association Congress) on August 25-30, 2013. During the four-day international final, the successful country finalists will work closely with people from other cultures and backgrounds.
Participants will be challenged with case studies and interviews before expert judges. That judges' panel will then confirm the three winners of the Young Tax Professional of the Year Award.
The finalists will be invited to a prestigious awards ceremony where — after a final review of performance throughout the competition — the winners will be announced.
Just entering the competition will give you the opportunities, confidence and platform to launch your career. No matter where you choose to work.
