Area Managing Partner – Americas

Steve leads our Americas Area, which is made up of more than 58,000 people in 30 countries. He is our Managing Partner of Ernst & Young LLP in the US and chairs the EY Americas Operating Executive and the US Board. Steve also represents Ernst & Young LLP in its regulatory relationships and as Executive Sponsor for inclusiveness.

Previous experience

Steve has been with EY for over 30 years. He has served as audit partner for various global financial institution clients and senior advisory partner on many of Ernst & Young LLP's largest clients. Steve was previously Managing Partner of the Financial Services Office of Ernst & Young LLP for six years before becoming Managing Partner for the firm and EY Americas.

Credentials and community activities

Steve actively supports a number of charities, and is involved in the development and support of EY's Corporate Responsibility initiatives. Steve is a member of the Board of Governors of the Center for Audit Quality, the Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Colgate University, the Board of the Partnership for New York City and the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Hall.

Steve has been honored by the National Association of Corporate Directors as a 2014 Directorship 100 honoree, recognizing him as one of the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community. Accounting Today also named Steve to its “Top 100 Most Influential People” 2014 list of the thought leaders and visionaries who are shaping the accounting profession. In addition, Steve was recognized as one of the top “100 CEO Leaders in STEM” in 2013 by STEMconnector.

Steve graduated from Colgate University with a BA in Mathematical Economics and from the Stern School at New York University with an MBA in Accounting and Finance.
