David Holtze
Global Vice Chair – Tax As Global Vice Chair of Tax, Dave leads our global Tax practice, which consists of more than 29,000 people worldwide. Dave is responsible for all aspects of our Tax strategy and delivery. New tax legislative, regulatory, and technical developments are announced nearly every day, and tax authorities around the globe are sharing information and cooperating on enforcement efforts in unprecedented ways. With a focus on understanding clients’ needs and a commitment to quality service, Dave leads our effort to help clients achieve their goals in this challenging global tax environment.
Previous experience Most recently, Dave served as Global Chief Operating Officer – Tax, a position in which he worked to ensure consistent delivery of Exceptional Client Service across the globe and drove many strategic initiatives, such as Tax’s increased use of the Global Talent Hub, the launch of the Area Tax Centers, and the transformation of the Global Tax Desks, that have helped Tax achieve the strong market position and reputation it enjoys today.
Dave joined EY in 1981 and has held many leadership positions, including Midwest Sub-Area Tax Leader, CFO of Americas Tax and COO of Americas Tax. He has also served as Tax account leader on a number of large clients.
Credentials Dave holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
Interests In Dave's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, running, golf and coaching his daughter's basketball team.
