M&E companies face the challenge of having to build relationships with their customers through multiple platforms and devices.

The variety of technology devices and the platforms that support them is defragmenting audiences. M&E companies need to harness the power of these devices and platforms to stay ahead of customer needs.

By 2013, most of the world will be connected and ready for multi-platform consumption.

Consumers are using their digital devices to access more choices than ever before.

  • Internet. According to comScore, there are 1.2 billion internet users worldwide, spending an average of 24 hours per month online.
  • Social networking. The In July 2010, Facebook topped 500 million members1.
  • Online video. The number of unique online video viewers in the US grew from 106 million in July 2006 to almost 183 million in May 20102.
  • Internet-enabled wireless devices. Industry watcher eMarketer estimates that 893 million high-speed wireless internet-enabled devices will be shipped in 2010.
