The American Gas Association (AGA), Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and EY sponsored the Accounting for Energy Derivatives seminar, which provided an advanced overview and update of the accounting rules for energy contracts and the related derivatives that electric and gas companies use to manage their business.
- On 16 September, a one-day workshop, led by EY’s Glen Hecht, Partner, and Tyler Dorn, Manager and AGA/EEI Fellow, offered a refresher on energy derivatives and hedge accounting.
- On 17-18 September, the one and a half day seminar covered both understanding and applying ASC 815, Derivatives and Hedge accounting and related disclosures and ASC 360, Impairments of long live assets.
The seminar featured speakers and panelists from both EY subject matter resources and utility companies.
