Carla A. Hills is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hills & Company International Consultants. Ambassador Hills served as U.S. Trade Representative in the George H.W. Bush Administration and Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Assistant Attorney General, Civil Division, U.S. Department of Justice in the Ford Administration. Before coming to Washington, she was a partner in a major Los Angeles law firm, taught antitrust law at UCLA law school and was President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She currently serves on one publicly traded board, on the International Advisory Boards of three major corporations and on several not-for-profit boards including as Chair of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, as Co-Chair of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Inter-American Dialogue, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Ambassador Hills received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and her law degree from Yale University. She is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees. In 2000, she received the Order of the Aztec Eagle, the Mexican Government’s highest honor given to non-citizens.
