Paul Balkus

Joint Oceania Transfer Pricing Leader, EY

Paul Balkus is the co-leader of EY’s Oceania Transfer Pricing group. He has over 20 years experience in the field of tax and transfer pricing including significant experience in servicing clients across most industries including financial services, mining and resources, pharmaceutical and fast moving consumer goods. Paul has been involved in all aspects of transfer pricing including advance pricing arrangements, dispute resolution, planning and documentation. More specifically, Paul’s experience has included addressing transfer pricing issues in connection with inter-company arrangements involving supply chain restructuring arrangements, global funds management, credit and performance guarantees, global trading and intercompany financing.

Paul is a regular speaker at seminars and events across the Asia-Pacific region.

Jesper Solgaard

Joint Oceania Transfer Pricing Leader, EY

Jesper Solgaard is the co-leader of EY’s Oceania Transfer Pricing group. He has provided transfer pricing advice to multinational companies since 1997 and been based out of Denmark, The Netherlands, Sweden and Singapore before he arrived to Australia. In Singapore he was the Asia Pacific leader of EY’s Tax advisory group with focus on Supply Chain restructurings and was part of the of EY’s Asia Pacific Steering Committee for International Tax.

Trevor Hughes

Oceania Business Tax Services Leader, EY

Trevor Hughes is the Oceania region leader of EY’s Business Tax Services tax practice with over 25 years corporate and international tax experience. Prior to this he was the Asia Pacific Business Tax Services leader gaining extensive practical experience in managing taxes across the Asia Pacific region. Trevor is also a Director of EY Law.

Trevor assists his clients in managing a broad range of corporate tax matters and advises multinational companies in structuring their investments into and out of Australia in a tax efficient manner. This includes tax efficient structuring of M&A transactions, dealing with related party international transactions, funding, managing the thin capitalisation rules and profit repatriation requirements.
