Jack Day is a partner in our National Professional Practice Group and EY’s Director of Accounting Standards for the Americas. He also is a member of the Emerging Issues Task Force and the SEC Regulations Committee. Jack previously was the Acting Chief Accountant of the US SEC and a FASB Practice Fellow.

Alison Spivey

Ernst & Young LLP

Alison is a partner in our Professional Practice Group, focusing on revenue recognition and compensation arrangements. Alison is a former Associate Chief Accountant in the SEC’s Office of the Chief Accountant.

Steven Jacobs

Ernst & Young LLP

Steven Jacobs is a partner in Ernst and Young's Professional Practice Group in Washington, DC where he focuses on matters pertaining to SEC rules and regulations on financial reporting. In this role, he is responsible for developing the firm's publications on various SEC reporting topics as well as providing accounting and financial reporting advice to Ernst and Young's engagement teams and clients. Steven also represents EY on the International Practices Task Force of the SEC Regulations Committee which focuses on international accounting reporting issues related to SEC rules and regulations.Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Steven was as an Associate Chief Accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance at the SEC where he served as an advisor to the Division's Chief Accountant, the Director, and Commission staff with respect to accounting and financial reporting matters arising under the SEC rules and regulations. In addition, he provided guidance on matters dealing with novel accounting issues, financing, and business structures affiliated with registrants and their documents filed with the SEC. Steven also served as the primary accounting contact within the Division for disclosure issues related to Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and as a liaison with the Office of Small Business Policy on financial reporting matters affecting smaller reporting companies.

Steven earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Danita Ostling is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP's US Professional Practice Group, and since July 2007 has served as the Americas IFRS Technical Leader. As such, she is responsible for coordinating the firm's IFRS accounting guidance and consultative services within the Americas practice. She also is a member of the firm's Global IFRS Policy Committee.
