Iain Brown

Ernst & Young LLP (UK)

Iain is a Partner focussing on the actuarial and investment strategy challenges faced by trustees and sponsors of UK pension schemes. He has advised both trustees and sponsors, and believes that funding and investment solutions should be crafted on the back of trustee and sponsor alignment.

He sees insurance as being the ultimate investment solution for schemes who wish to de-risk albeit appreciating that cost consideration can defer decision-making. His experience would also lead him to conclude that insurance solutions need proper due diligence to understand what the levers behind pricing are and also to appreciate the security and infrastructure offered by the insurer.
