Alex Birkin is the EY Global Asset Management Advisory. Alex joined the firm in 1997 and has been advising the asset management industry for the last 15 years. He has worked across a number of the sectors within the industry including global and niche asset managers, alternative managers and service providers. He has also worked across a number of disciplines including, risk management, operational strategy, transactions support and post merger integration, business model design and outsourcing.
Alan Fish is the National Asset Management Advisory Practice Leader for Ernst & Young LLP. Alan has more than 19 years of assurance and advisory experience serving financial services and asset management firms. Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Alan held various positions within the capital markets and brokerage operations at Fidelity Investments. Alan has had extensive experience assisting global asset management firms in improving business performance, enhancing operational effectiveness and efficiency, and reducing risk. Alan’s clients include traditional and alternative investment managers, mutual fund complexes, third party administrators, broker dealers, and transfer agents.

Lesley Keefe is an executive director in Asset Management Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP. She has over 20 years of experience in providing advisory services in the operations and technology areas of large buy-side financial services organizations, with significant experience in assisting clients with the development of target state operations and technology across the front-, middle- and back offices to support mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds, and both institutional and retail separately managed accounts. She has assisted many clients in the areas of technology enablement, investment operations reviews, operational risk and control reviews, system selections and implementations, compliance risk assessment and key risk indicator development, definition of operating models, due-diligence and operational reviews of ETF sponsors, RFP selections of third-party ETF service providers, and overall project management.

Howard Mannion is a Partner with Financial Services and leads our UK Asset Management Advisory practice of Ernst & Young LLP within the UK. Howard has been involved in a number of data management initiatives across the insurance, banking and asset management industries. Prior to joining EY, Howard held the position of CEO and has spent the last 19 years providing and overseeing the provision of advisory services to the asset management industry.
