    Steven Jacobs

    Ernst & Young LLP

    Steven Jacobs is a partner in the Ernst & Young LLP Professional Practice Group in Washington, DC, where he focuses on matters pertaining to SEC rules and regulations on financial reporting. He is responsible for developing the firm's publications on SEC reporting topics, providing accounting and financial reporting guidance to EY engagement teams and clients and he represents EY on the International Practices Task Force of the SEC Regulations Committee. Prior to joining EY, Steven was as an Associate Chief Accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance at the SEC where he served as an advisor to the Division's Chief Accountant, the Director, and Commission staff with respect to accounting and financial reporting matters arising under the SEC rules and regulations. 

    Steven earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

     

    Steve Kane

    Ernst & Young LLP

    Steve Kane is a Partner in the Ernst & Young LLP Professional Practice Group. In this role Steve consults with clients and engagement teams on technical issues, monitors standard-setter developments, and helps develop the firm’s interpretive guidance for matters related to financial instruments, fair value, and the Emerging Issues Task Force. Steve recently returned from a two-year fellowship with FASB. While at the FASB, Steve held a number of roles and co-led the FASB staff efforts on the financial instruments convergence project with the IASB.

    Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and maintains CPA licenses in Ohio, New York and Connecticut. Additionally, Steve holds a charter as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters degree in Accountancy, and Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Finance and Business Economics, both from the University of Notre Dame.

     

    Jeremy Simons

    Ernst & Young LLP

    Jeremy Simons is a Partner in the Ernst & Young LLP Professional Practice Group in New York, where he specializes in income tax and lease accounting matters. In this role, Jeremy is responsible for consulting with global engagement teams and clients, monitoring standard-setting activities, and developing EY interpretive guidance.

    Recently, Jeremy spent two years Professional Accounting Fellow in the SEC’s Office of the Chief Accountant. In this role, Jeremy consulted with current and prospective SEC registrants and divisions within the Commission on accounting issues with particular focus on the topics of consolidations, business combinations, long-lived assets, and debt and equity.

    Prior to the SEC fellowship, Jeremy spent time in the Ernst & Young LLP Professional Practice Group and audited public and private companies in the manufacturing and retail and distribution industries.

    Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and majored in Accounting and Finance. Jeremy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Indiana.

    Danita Ostling

    Danita Ostling is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP's Professional Practice Group, and since July 2007 has served as the EY Americas IFRS Technical Leader. As such, she is responsible for coordinating the global EY organization’s IFRS accounting guidance and consultations in the Americas. She also is a member of the organization’s Global IFRS Policy Committee.

    Ms. Ostling earned her B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is a licensed CPA in the states of New York and Texas.
