Katrina Kimpel

Ernst & Young LLP, Assurance Services, Professional Practice

Katrina Kimpel is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s Assurance and Advisory Business Services Professional Practice. In this position, Katrina is responsible for consulting with engagement teams on technical accounting and reporting matters, monitoring activities of standard-setting bodies, drafting firm communication materials related to new and existing accounting pronouncements and leading professional education courses, primarily in the subject area of income taxes.

Katrina holds a bachelor of business administration degree and a master in professional accounting degree, both from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas, the District of Columbia and New York.

Jeremy Simons

Ernst & Young LLP, Assurance Services, Professional Practice

Jeremy Simons is a Partner in the Ernst & Young LLP Professional Practice Group in New York, where he specializes in income tax and lease accounting matters. In this role, Jeremy is responsible for consulting with global engagement teams and clients, monitoring standard-setting activities, and developing EY interpretive guidance.

Recently, Jeremy spent two years Professional Accounting Fellow in the SEC’s Office of the Chief Accountant. In this role, Jeremy consulted with current and prospective SEC registrants and divisions within the Commission on accounting issues with particular focus on the topics of consolidations, business combinations, long-lived assets, and debt and equity.

Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and majored in Accounting and Finance. Jeremy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Indiana.

David Northcut

EY Global Director of Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS)

David Northcut is with Ernst & Young LLP’s Business Tax Advisory practice. Based in Dallas, TX, he has over 28 years of experience serving the tax accounting needs of clients in various industries.

In addition to David’s direct client service roles, he also serves as the Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Leader for the Southwest sub-area. In this capacity, David regularly consults with various clients and client service teams regarding complex tax accounting matters including the tax accounting implications of business combinations, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, equity compensation, and foreign operations. David works with clients under both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

David received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s of Accounting in Taxes from Texas Tech University.

Angela Evans

EY Americas Co-Director of Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS)

Angela Evans has more than 20 years of experience serving clients in the retail, distribution, consumer products, and transportation services industries in connection with matters involving corporate taxation and accounting for income taxes (FASB ASC Topic 740). Angela currently serves as a technical resource on ASC 740 matters in the National Tax Department of Ernst & Young LLP in Washington D.C., and as Senior Advisory Partner for the Firm on a number of Fortune 100 companies in the retail/consumer products and transportation industries. Prior to transferring to our National Tax practice, Angela served as the lead tax partner on several Fortune 100 clients for the Firm’s Southwest and Southeast Sub-Areas.

Angela is a CPA licensed in Texas and Georgia, a member of the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPAs, and holds a BSA in Accounting and a MSA in Taxation from the University of North Texas.
