Standardized supply chain operating model

Redesigning the operating model and standardizing end-to-end supply chain processes are not easy tasks, especially for global organizations.

However, we believe there are two quick steps to develop a plan for improving business performance and standardization:

  1. Evaluate process maturity.
Determining the current degree of process maturity and standardization provides insight into process effectiveness, process governance, and data management issues, and aids in the formulation of key hypotheses on how to improve process reliability and predictability.

  2. Conduct rapid supply chain assessment.
Evaluate financial, operational and organizational diagnostics and conduct select site visits across the operating units to understand how work gets done.

By understanding the base level of performance and translating the business strategy into an operating strategy, operating leaders can develop a "standardized" operations improvement plan. The plan should include non-technology and technology-enabled improvement initiatives.
