A misalignment of priorities could reduce the organization’s competitive profile and ultimately cost the CFO his or her job.

If finance cannot move quickly to align its priorities with those of the business, it will find its level of relevance, participation and involvement in the business diminished.

The business will not seek finance’s counsel, and finance will not play a strategic role in the organization’s strategic growth objectives.
