As an auditor at Ernst & Young, your main aim will be to provide an independent view of our clients’ compliance with accounting principles. By doing so, you play an important role in helping businesses reflect their financial picture accurately, which in turn protects financial markets.
The nature and extent of our client-base means we can offer you a portfolio which will reflect your existing experience and your future potential.
Because we use a single Global Audit Methodology in over 130 countries, audit is a practice rich in opportunity. The scale and diversity of our clients’ businesses add to the wealth of experience and opportunity that an audit career here offers you.
As an audit professional here you will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing services to help your clients respond to regulatory reforms, manage their capital life-cycle and improve their business operations.
Our audit professionals have access to a huge variety of companies and undergo an introduction to business which is difficult to match. The opportunity to develop as an individual in audit means the experience you gain is unrivalled from day one. We help our clients by providing assurance to key stakeholders, which helps to create the confidence that enables those businesses to trade successfully. Because we find ways to improve those businesses by enhancing risk management, improving processes and procedures, or making operations more efficient, we broaden our experience while also adding significant value to our clients.
You could also join our climate change and sustainability team. It provides global advice and recommendations to help clients to navigate through their climate change and sustainability journey with confidence. You’ll need to understand business and regulatory threats and opportunities, and will explore and help execute commercial transactions.
You’ll work strategically with clients to help them balance risks, take advantage of opportunities and achieve their full potential in a changing world.
Company reporting continues to evolve. Organisations now face complex changes including IFRS conversion, new UK GAAP, mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs and IPOs. Providing financial accounting advisory services involves helping organisations to address varied challenges. For example, you’ll advise on how to convert from GAAP reporting to IFRS and assist with due diligence on transactions.
Our Fraud Investigation and Disputes professionals help clients to deal with the complex issues of fraud, regulatory compliance and business disputes which could otherwise detract from their efforts to achieve their company’s potential. As part of this team, you’ll draw on your knowledge of fraud assessment, monitoring and prevention to identify issues that need to be addressed. Your focus will be on helping organisations to manage fraud risk more effectively and treat it as a critical business priority.
