Application, interview and selection process

There are seven steps to success – read the guide below to help you prepare effectively.

Identify your interests

Take a moment to visit the Working at Ernst & Young section to learn about our service lines and identify your areas of interest. You can then apply for an entry-level opportunity in Assurance, Advisory, Transactions or Tax.

Search for opportunities

Click on “Job search” and look for opportunities in your chosen area of interest. Most of our entry-level opportunities require a degree in accounting, business, finance, tax, law, engineering or a related field. You’ll find more information about specific qualification requirements in the job descriptions.

Apply online

Applying online should take approximately one to two hours. We ask all applicants to complete the application form to ensure everyone is assessed fairly and objectively. A member of our recruitment team screens each form. We ask you about your academic results, positions of responsibility and work experience. We also ask you to complete five free-text questions, which will help us start to find out more about your strengths and skills.

Prepare for the interview

At the interview, we'll aim to discover your individual strengths and see if they match the attributes we need. One of our experienced interviewers will be looking to find out exactly what you are good at and what you particularly enjoy doing, with a view to understanding whether a career at Ernst & Young will be right for you.

Complete the assessment process

There are lots of differents aspects to the day, including case studies. But the main aim is to give you a real insight into what it's like to work here, and for us to learn more about your own personal strengths.

Final Interview

Your final interview will be with a partner or director held on a seperate day to the assessment day.

Review our offer

If you are successful throughout the interview and selection process, we’ll make you a formal offer in writing. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions and, if you’re happy with the offer, we’ll look forward to receiving confirmation and to welcoming you on board.

Start

Most of our programmes start in Autumn. Please ask us if you would like to defer- we do consider individual requests.
