  • Capacity extension by seeking additional partners for training and capacity-building

The road ahead

Procurement in India’s police forces has seen numerous challenges. There is substantial scope of improvement in the overall procurement process to make it a defined and robust one with clear guidelines and regulations.

  • Identifying key stakeholders and decision-makers involved in procurement of goods, work or services
  • Preparing time plans, and identifying resources and funds required to enhance the capacity of procurement divisions in police forces
  • Preparing change management and capacity-building plans to enhance skills of procurement personnel in police forces
  • Assigning responsibility for affecting and monitoring change through performance indicators for continuous improvement in and sustenance of the procurement function
