Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman launch digital media start-up Qyuki

Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman have formally launched their digital media venture, Qyuki, on 5 December 2012. The start-up, which is also backed by Cisco, will concentrate on identifying and developing creative content across different media including audio, video, images and text. It plans to monetize content through advertising, brand engagements and subscriptions.1

Apple’s iTunes Store launched in India

Apple has launched its iTunes Store in India and Indonesia. The store will offer local music and movies as well as international content. In India, it will offer individual songs, priced between INR7–INR15 and whole albums from INR70 onwards. The company is also offering iTunes Match, which enables users to store music purchased from sources other than iTunes in the country in cloud.2
