Kasturi & Sons looking at launching Tamil daily

Kasturi & Sons, publisher of The Hindu, is considering the option of foraying into the Tamil newspaper market. The company had approved a proposal made by its professional team, which is headed by its CEO, to explore the feasibility and prospect of starting a Tamil daily. The dominant players in the Tamil daily market include Daily Thanthi, Dinakaran, Dinamalar and Dinamani.1

Penguin launches Partridge self-publishing imprint in India

Penguin Books India Pvt. Ltd. is rolling out its self-publishing imprint in India under the Partridge brand. The imprint is being launched in partnership with US-based Author Solutions Inc., the self-publishing company acquired by Penguin in 2012. Author Solutions has published 170,000 writers around the world. Penguin and Partridge will be run separately.2

Discovery partners India Today to launch Discovery Channel Magazine in India

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has partnered with the India Today Group to launch the Discovery Channel Magazine in India. The magazine will be published monthly and will cover a wide spectrum of topics including nature, adventure, sci-tech, history, the universe and the environment.3
