Padma is passionate about people development, and has built winning teams throughout her career. Padma has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources, including roles leading the Global Mobility Operations at a global bank, General Manager, India for a multinational relocation services provider and in various leadership roles spanning across Compensation, Performance Management, Global Process Administration in the HR Shared Services space serving clients across the globe. Prior to his association with the BMW Group, he has had experience in the electronics manufacturing companies Flextronics & Sony in Malaysia. He has earned a Masters of Business Administration with concentration in Strategic Management from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (Scotland) and completed his undergraduate at the University of Nottingham, UK with a Degree in Computer Systems Engineering.

Sonu has almost 20 years of experience in the area Human Capital-Global Mobility. She is based out of New Delhi and is in Bachelor in Commerce from Delhi University and is a Chartered Accountant. Sonu specializes in tax and regulatory aspects of Employee Mobility including Immigration Planning, Exchange Control, formulation of Global Mobility policies for Inbound and Outbound assignees, Tax Equalization Policies, Tax Planning and Compliance, Employee Deployment Structures and related framework of International Tax, Home & Host Country Tax and Social Security Regulations.

Sonu has an extensive experience on International Assignment Policy Advisory, design and review of employment contracts, advisory regarding Indian social security especially related to International workers and implications of obtaining certificate of coverage in India. She has been involved extensively in work related to Employee Due Diligence studies on Transactions involving Mergers, De Mergers and Acquisitions. She has also worked in the area of development and design of Employee Incentives schemes including Equity Based Plans for listed and non listed companies. Sonu has been involved with thought leadership initiatives in the area of Indian Social Security (Provident Fund provisions) touching Globally Mobile Employees.

Further, Sonu has been an active speaker at various tax seminars and conferences in India and has authored many articles on tax issues for leading newspapers. She leads the Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I) initiative in India for EY. She also heads EY WIN - the women’s network in EY India.

Amarpal, Tax Partner in the Human Capital practice, is based in Bangalore and has over 17 years of experience in the area of Human Capital-Global Mobility covering Employee Taxation and Advisory with key focus on Global Mobility Advisory Services. He is a Bachelor in Commerce from Delhi University and a Chartered Accountant. His specific competence areas are tax and regulatory issues relating to globally mobile individuals, structuring of assignments for globally mobile employees, compensation structuring, interpretation of double tax avoidance agreements, design and implementation of stock based incentive plans, tax litigation and social security advisory.

Amarpal has been recommending tax efficient compensation structure to clients, ensuring that the compensation structure is legally compliant, easy to administer and minimizes the overall tax cost. He not only assists clients in simplification and optimisation of the global mobility structure but also advises them on the processes, compliances and other related issues that will arise on deputing expatriates in and out of India, as well as local employees. He has been assisting clients in tax compliance and advisory for inbound and outbound assignees keeping in mind the provisions of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement; and also in the design and implementation of stock based incentive plans and advises them on the tax and regulatory issues relates to such plans. He has also been involved in advising clients with tax litigations and appeals at various levels of authority in India. Moreover, he has experience in FERA, FEMA and Company law services especially with respect to international and local expatriates/employees

Alok has advised and assisted various multinational companies in implementation of their International assignment policies and tax equalization policies. He has also advised various multinational companies on Indian Immigration regulations and assists them with compliance. Also, he has advised clients on social security planning in respect of international assignments and assists Indian MNCs with Global payroll compliance. Further, Alok has been advising clients on design aspects and on tax and regulatory implications of Equity compensation.
