1. Do I have to pay a fee to participate in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards?
Unlike some awards where participants are required to pay a fee for their application to be processed, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards does not charge a fee on participants.

Eligibility
2. Who can be nominated?
To be eligible for an award, the nominee must be:
An owner-manager primarily responsible for the recent performance of a privately held company that is at least 2 years old, or A founder/active CEO of a public company and principally responsible for its success

3. Who can submit a nomination?
Anyone associated with a successful entrepreneur, even the nominee himself/herself: professional advisor, customer, supplier, banker, lawyer, employee or spouse may nominate.

4. If I am in a partnership, can I a) submit a single nomination? b) submit a joint nomination together with the partner(s)?
The nominee can be nominated singly or jointly with other partner(s) depending on his/her participation in the business. Joint nominations are acceptable so long as all parties are owner/managers and are actively involved in the business.

5. How can I submit a nomination?

6. When is the deadline for nominations?
All completed nomination forms must reach Ernst & Young by July 30, 2010.

7. Who are the judges?
The judging panel comprises highly visible and respected leaders in the business community, the academia, entrepreneurial role models, CEOs and past awards recipients of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, who possess the necessary experience and commercial acumen to spot talented entrepreneurs. The judges are perceived to be independent and above influence.

8. What are the judging criteria?
Nominees will be judged based on 6 criteria. In no order of importance, they are as follows:
Entrepreneurial Spirit
Sets high standards and demonstrates a desire to be successful
Takes risks and has overcome significant obstacles
Demonstrates perseverance and learns from experience
Innovation
Pioneered new approaches or technologies
Ability to adapt and develop products/services ahead of the market
Builds a culture of innovation and invests in research and development
Personal Integrity / Influence
Personal values and approach to relationships with staff, clients, suppliers and colleagues
Experience as a role model, mentor and/or advisor to others
Personal involvement in the wider community
Financial Performance
Strength of financial performance and track record in raising equity and debt financing
Strategies for managing cash flow and ensuring long term sustainability
Growth in financial results and reinvestment of profit
Strategic Direction
Develops a vision and sets goals for future growth and expansion
Builds an effective team (e.g. staff, directors, advisors) and strategic alliances
Measures and benchmarks progress against goals
National / Global Impact
Achieves substantial market share
Extent of expansion into national and international markets
Plans to enable international growth and increased impact

9. What is a Nomination Form?
The nominee is required to fill in a Nomination Form which requests for the following information.
a. Personal Particulars
b. Description of Business
c. Financial Information
d. References

Please note that all nomination forms have to be completed, signed and returned to Ernst & Young via mail together with the supporting documents stated in the form.

10. Is the information provided in the nomination form kept confidential?
The information provided in the nomination form is strictly confidential and will only be used by Ernst & Young, the Major Sponsor and the independent panel of judges during the selection process.

11. What happens after the nominee submits the Nomination Form?
The Nomination Form will be verified for completeness and processed based on the judging criteria. On-site interviews with the short-listed nominees will be conducted during June to October 2010. Thereafter, the independent panel of judges will convene in October 2010 to select the finalists for the various award categories & award recipients.
All award recipients will be announced at the Awards Gala held in November 2010 at the Shilla Seoul Hotel.
