EY presents talented artists and musicians to its clients, guests of V Economic Forum and members of the Foreign Investors’ Council

ASTANA/ALMATY, 23 May, 2012 – On the eve of the Economic Forum, EY hosted a reception in Astana to celebrate its 20th Anniversary in the Republic of Kazakhstan. About 250 guests attended the event, including the participants of the 25th Jubilee Plenary Session of the Foreign Investors’ Council and V Economic Forum in Astana, senior Kazakhstani politicians, Cabinet members, heads of major companies in Kazakhstan, as well as members of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Fifty-five paintings by young, talented Kazakhstani artists were presented at the exhibition during the reception. The winning paintings are: “Young Artists”, “Self-portrait” by Assel Amangeldinova, “Asel” by Saule Zhandullayeva, “Sensuality” by Tegzhanova Aigul, “Swirling clouds” by Zhanibek Saulet. EY will buy each of five winning paintings for $1,000 and will decorate their offices in Astana, Atyrau, Almaty and London, thus, supporting talented young artists of the country.

"We gathered the country’s business and political leaders, and foreign investors and showed them paintings of young Kazakh artists, which we hope will stir demand for the young artists work locally and internationally." says Keith Gaebel, EY, Managing Partner in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

In addition, distinguished guests listened to talented musicians who represent the modern and dynamic musical art of Kazakhstan:

  • Trio "Dasht" (violin, flute, guitar) - winners of international competitions, soloists of the Presidential Orchestra
  • String Quartet in the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. K.Baiseitova, laureates of international competitions
  • Dombra band "Serper" - winners of national competitions. The ensemble has participated in concerts of national importance such as Independence Day, Constitution Day, and others.
