World Entrepreneur of the Year 2008
Dr. Jean-Paul Clozel, founder of Swiss pioneering biotechnology company Actelion Pharmaceutical Ltd, of Switzerland, was named as the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 at the climax of a glittering ceremony in Monte Carlo on 31 May.
Founded in 1997, Actelion is a leader in the development of small-molecule drugs for the treatment of pulmonary disease, and its products have improved the lives of patients worldwide.
"Being named Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 is a great honor for me and my team", says Jean-Paul. "To be singled out from such a strong field of entrepreneurs makes us very proud".
Each year the national Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners from around the world are invited to the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award celebration. The next World Entrepreneur Of The Year event will take place 28-31 May 2009 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

All winners become lifetime members of The Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame, which is part of the Entrepreneur Of The Year Academy.
