Conference on European and Malta Attractiveness Surveys 2009

The European Attractiveness Survey was presented in Malta on 15th July 2009 during a Conference in which the Malta Attractiveness Survey 2009 was also presented.

 

The Conference was addressed by the Prime Minister, Dr Lawrence Gonzi and by the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment, Mr Tonio Fenech. The Conference was opened by Mario P Galea, managing partner of Ernst & Young in Malta. The results of the European Attractiveness Survey were presented by Jan Siemons, one of the leaders of the International Location Advisory Services. The results of the Malta Attractiveness Survey were presented by Ronald Attard, TAS partner in Malta.

 

The Malta Attractiveness Survey 2009 is carried out through face-to-face interviews with 101 foreign-owned companies employing around 12,500 people in Malta.

 

The panel of guests that discussed the results of the surveys were Michael C Bonello (Governor of the Central Bank of Malta), Margrith Lutschg-Emmenegger (President, FIMBank Group), John Vassallo (Vice President EU Affairs and Associate General Counsel, Microsoft), Helga Ellul (CEO, Playmobil), Claudio Grech (CEO, SmartCity Malta), and Philip Micallef (Chairman, Malta Communications Authority).

 

The Conference was attended by 120 people from foreign-owned companies, policy makers and companies owned by Maltese entrepreneurs.  Both the national and other television stations gave a very good coverage of the event.
