EY seeks extraordinary entrepreneurs
Nominations for the EY EOY 2013 Malaysia awards now open
Kuala Lumpur, 15 April 2013 – The prestigious Malaysian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Awards programme returns once more in search of Malaysian entrepreneurs who are visionary, revolutionary and extraordinary.
Currently in its 12th year, the Malaysian EOY Awards programme seeks to recognize and celebrate the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs - regardless of gender, industry, sector or size of enterprise.
“The focus of our EOY Awards programme is the individual entrepreneur and the qualities that have contributed to his/her achievements and success. So it does not matter if the enterprise is private, family-run or public-listed; if it has been long-established or is just a couple of years old; or if the business activity is traditional or new in nature. We are excited and inspired by individuals who are driven by a vision of what could be, and whose revolutionary spirit of enterprise and innovation knows no bounds. They are individuals whose daring and perseverance have resulted in extraordinary achievements with far-reaching impact on the lives of the ordinary people. These are exceptional individuals who deserve to be applauded and recognized, and that is why we have this awards programme,” said Philip Rao, Partner and Programme Director of the EY EOY Awards programme.
Philip Rao continued, “Through our EOY Malaysia awards programme, we are able to celebrate Malaysian entrepreneurs who have managed to revolutionize businesses and enterprises, and to turn their vision into reality. These business extraordinaires have made a significant impact in their respective industries – creating jobs, improving lives, boosting economic growth. We believe their extraordinary stories, showcasing the best of the Malaysian entrepreneurial spirit, should be made known locally and further recognized on a global stage.”
Unlike any other business award programmes in the country, the EY EOY Awards programme is a global one. The Malaysian EOY country winner will have the privilege of representing the country to compete with over 50 other country winners for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) award in Monte Carlo.
“Indeed, the event in Monte Carlo is not just a competition. It is a unique gathering of dynamic business leaders who will have the chance to network, engage and swap “war stories” with like-minded entrepreneurs from around the world. The opportunity to build relationships and enhance the entrepreneur’s profile, locally and internationally, at the WEOY event is invaluable. Therefore, we urge Malaysian entrepreneurs to come forward and share their stories with us, with Malaysia and the world through our EOY programme,” concluded Philip Rao.
Nominations for the 2013 Malaysian EOY Awards programme are now open until 15 June 2013. After the close of the nomination period, there will be a judging process, followed by the announcement of the Top Nominees, and finally, the announcement of the winners at a gala event at the end of the year.
